In conjunction with Columna, current exhibition of works by Lyn Carter at Queen's Square, Cambridge Galleries is pleased to announce a publication and public art project launch on Saturday, December 10th with informal talk and tour of the works with the artist. Created specifically for the atrium of the gallery, Beacon is the newest and largest work to date created by Carter well known for her intricate textile surfaces and unusual sculptural forms. It will remain on view until October 2012.
Columna, on exhibition until January 8th consists of four large scale pieces that reference architectural columns. It is the first Canadian exhibition of the work originally created for the 3rd Guangzhou, China Triennial in 2008.
Lyn Carter: Material Becomings is a bilingual co-publication of works with essay by Corinna Ghaznavi which accompanies Lyn Carter's exhibitions at Cambridge Galleries (2011) and Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives (2012).
